Buttock Implants
Buttock implants or Glutealplasty provides patients an opportunity to gain a more pleasing contour and fullness in their buttocks. Although Buttocks can also be augmented through fat grafting, implants offer a solution which is often more full-bodied and enduring for the patient over time. Due to the bodies ability to absorb injected fat, implants provides the patient with a more consistent and reliable result in comparison with fat augmentation. The procedure involves the surgical placement of cohesive silicone gel implants thru various incision locations in the buttock region.

Preparation / Anesthesia
Based on a review of the patient’s medical history, it may be necessary for the doctor to perform additional blood work and an E.K.G before continuing with the procedure. The procedure is done under general anesthetic performed by an anesthesiologist.
Incisions
Incisions for the placement of the implants are typically made Inferiorly in both the gluteal creases where the "cheek" meets the back of the thigh or thru a Single incision which is placed down the center of the sacrum or upper buttocks crease. In addition You may have additional incisions from Liposuction.
Risks
Post-operative complications such as infection and blood clots are rare, but can occur. Infection can be treated with drainage and antibiotics. Risks of infection are even higher when incisions are made in the gluteal crease. Smokers should be advised to stop, as smoking may increase the risk of complications and delay healing.
Another complication that could occur is the implants shifting and causing the results to appear asymmetrical. The implants may also rupture, or break, a rare, but possible occurrence
